Someday…
… I would love to fish with this guy. Due to not being able to drive in 2006, The Urban Fly Fisher started to ride the public transport system with his fly fishing gear and discover portions of the River Kelvin that he could catch brown trout.
He has a wonderful blog with lots of great images – lovely Scottish wild Brown Trout as well as some gorgeous scenic pictures. I’m not sure that I’d be able to understand him all the time – if he has a strong Glasgow brogue – but I do fine understanding a deep Belfast Brogue. And even Cape Breton accents ;).
Perhaps on a future trip to Northern Ireland where I’ll definitely be fishing the Six Mile Water River again, I’ll also have an opportunity to cross the Irish Sea and meet with The Urban Angler for a day of wetting flies.
Speaking of Cape Breton brogues, that’s another thing I’d like to do someday. I’ve never visited the east coast of Canada but hoping Colleen will hurry up and let me “hire” her as a tour guide for some possible fly fishing in Cape Breton. But of course, I have to help her get her first fish on the fly rod!
