I Think I’m Getting Old

sigh… Years ago, I could tie a hook onto a leader no problem, even at dusk.  Today, I cannot do that, as I cannot see the hook eye hole, at dusk.

I guess I should have my eyes checked. It really bites to see a hatch going on, and excitedly pull out a fly that matches that hatch, and be unable to see the hole of the hook eye in order to tie on the fly.

I need magnification glasses as well as one of those lights that straps around one’s head.  I even went back to my van, and tried to tie on my fly with the light inside the vehicle, but couldn’t see the hole and leader correctly.

That sucks, don’t you think?
