Fly Fishing Giggles

Hey Folks – the other day, I wrote about “Free Fly Fishing Advice,” where some so called experts were writing some pretty weird things about fly fishing. Well, it gets better.

There is some author who goes by the name of Mikus Debra who is writing about fishing rods. According to Mekus, “Mikus Debra is a reputed name in fishing industry.” Umm.. I’ve never heard of Mekus, have you?

Here’s some things that Mekus, the reputed expert writes:

“Carbon Fiber Rods: These are hi-tech rods that are mainly used for coarse fishing.”

– Shoulda told me!

“Fly Rods: Fly fishing rods are generally used for catching fresh water fishes like halibut, salmon and trout.”

– Sheesh – Where the heck can I find a halibut in fresh water??

“Bamboo Fly Fishing Rod: This common fishing rod is preferred by most of the people who go fishing, as it is quite durable and suitable for most kinds of fishing situations. These type of fishing rods are very flexible and lightweight.”

– Right! That’s why I’ve got about 20 graphite (carbon fiber) fly rods here and one bamboo split cane. Actually, I like my split cane rod, built by Tony Spezio – but it sure ain’t “common.”

“.Fiberglass Fly Fishing Rod: Most of the fishing rods these days are being made of fiberglass”

– Yeah…. anyone say “timewarp?”

Anyone ever hear of Mikus Debra before?

Oh, the same article appears here and you can comment on it.
