By Ian Scott

On November 6, 2006, the President of Fly Fishing Canada announced from Ottawa that the 2007 Canadian Fly Fisihng Championships would be held in Grand Prairie, Alberta.
The "loch" style event will take place September 17th through 22nd with the first two days being practice days, no fishing on the 19th, and the competition itself 20th through 22nd. Help to organize the tournament will come from The Peace Country Flyfishers Association.
According to the official announcement by Fly Fishing Canada, John Beaven, FFC National Competitions Chairman, said, "We have been very impressed with the enthusiasm and capabilities of both The Peace Country
Flyfishers Association and the Grande Prairie Regional Tourism Association, and are confident the event will be well supported by the community. We expect the Nationals will have superb fishing and attract competitors from across Canada".
The entry fee for the event is CDN$250.00. Registration will be limited to 16 teams - but if there are less than 16 teams, others who register individully without a team will be assigned together as a team.
