Last year, I had the pleasure of attending one of Ian James' fly tying workshops and I learned a lot of new skills and practical information, as well as some great new patterns. This year, Ian is again offering his one day workshops, to be held on April 17th and 18th, just in time for the trout season. This workshop will be geared towards productive patterns for Southern Ontario's Grand River. You'll recieve all the materials you need to tie the patterns that Ian will teach you. As well, a handy reference/note guide that you can take home. Ian is very generous with the materials he hands out so you can count on plenty of that to take back home with you as well. The only thing you need to bring along is a vice. I thoroughly enjoyed Ian's class last year. His teaching system was great, as we spent time on each fly. Ian would demonstrate the various steps involved, provide some great tips, and then after his demonstration, the group of us would tie up the fly ourselves a couple of times. As we did that, Ian was always close by to get some advice or help if needed. If there is any possibility you can be in the London, Ontario area in April, book your spot and attend! More information is available on Ian's website, here.
