Terry's Notes and Instructions:

TYING INSTRUCTIONS

HOOK: Mustad 9671, Size 6-2
THREAD: Light Colored, Tan, Yellow, Green
BODY: Spun Deer Hair Plain or Dyed
WING: Underwing: Pearl Metallic Flash. Wing: White Calf Tail. Overwing: Stacked Deer Hair Tips
ABD: Antron Dubbing - Green, Yellow, Olive, or Coachman (Peacock Tail & Red Floss)
LEGS: Black or White or White Stripped Rubber

Wing should start about half way down hook shank. Use 3-4 strands pearl flash doubled over & cut midway down tail. Tie rear set of legs after white calf tail, leave two ribs of rubber together until completed then separate. Bend legs tied in figure-8 pattern straight across hook shank. One more spin of deer hair in front of legs to complete. Cut hair with razor blade, watch out for the legs, final trim with scissors. Separate legs, on small hooks can be tied with only 4 legs.

FISHING NOTES

Excellent dry fly especially for Cutthroats. Good visibility and floatation for fast moving riffles. Mimics variety of insects including hoppers & stoneflies.
