In addition to the photo on this post, here’s a few more:

From left to right: Myself, Arron Varga, Ivo Balinov, Captain Ernie Kalwa, and The Tall Guy (Graham Murfitt).

A smiling Arron with a smiling rainbow trout. Look at that big wide open mouth grin on the pair of them.

And Ivo with a nice rainbow that doesn’t look as happy as the one Arron caught.
Grande Prairie
Interesting. Just received an email advising that the 2007 Canadian Fly Fishing Championships will be held in Grand Prairie, Alberta.
That’s a place in the middle of nowhere – hundreds of kilometres north west of Edmonton, Alberta. But no rivers – instead, the competition will be completely lake/pond based. I guess I’ll be spending lots of the summer months on lakes – something I have seldom fly fished in the past.
Grande Prairie is quite a bit north – the city is 55 degrees latitudinally, north of the equator. Lots of daylight hours in the early summer.. wonder what it’s like in September, the tentative month for the competition.
